Ok..here are some links to some musicians that Chris and Rob know. Check out their web sites, and don't forget to go see them live!
The Rutles
But first...The band that started it all...and the best band ever. With so many hits, The Rutles RULE!
However!!!...If anyone knows me, they know my opinions about the recording industry (anti-trust record mafia), ASCAP & BMI, (a stupid con artist promoter) & (Benefiting Major Industry) The below links no longer work, but I will keep them here to make a point. I don't know the legal details, and I really don't care. For the same reason you can't buy the Hey Jude album on CD by the Beatles, you can no longer view the below videos...some legal crap that comes from the top of the record industry food chain while punishing the public, artists, and songwriters. And yes, what a lovely web site for the Rutles...last updated about 13 years ago, with no videos to view so the Rutles can obtain NO new fans...Brilliant! Let's use photos to sell music to the blind...and then use music to sell photos to the deaf. Have you holdout morons ever heard of opportunity costs???? Another example of complete ignorance...by someone...(I assume the major labels are holding out for more money to be squeezed from works done decades ago)....
Anyway....
We all have our off nights. We all have our bad tones, and our quirks. Check out these videos of some of our favorite artists having a bad night...orrrr...nahhhh...these can't be real...orrrrr??? LOL! If you are a guitar player, and have not seen these...you HAVE TO SEE THESE VIDEOS!!!! And yes...We know......
Mary Justice
Both Rob and Chris know Mary from the songwriters open mic nite at the Coffee Tree. Mary is...ok wait now...let's take a deep breath to get it all out...Mary is an outstanding songwriter, a vocalist as well as member of the choir at her school as well as a member of the Legacy Choir, an artist doing drawings and paintings, a photographer, a dancer with seven years of dance instruction, has performed on stage as an actress (yes she attended acting school), a model (yes...been there done that and has runway and commercial modeling instruction), and has performed her music at too many places to list here...and she knows a bunch of celebrities! So without further introduction...check her out!
Ashleigh Marie
Now See This...or hear this...This is an important announcement for all local musicians. You have got to see this young woman before you sell your guitar, take a freight train to nowhere, climb a mountain and jump off, and before you crawl into a hole in the wall and die. This 13 year old musician is going somewhere! Ashleigh is a guitar player, a vocalist, a songwriter, and...well...just go listen to her play live!...and then start wishing for a time machine.
Dave Anderson
Dave is admired by many musicians in Huntsville.
Dave is known as a member of the Atlanta Rhythm Section and member of Brother Cane. He is a great vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter and we highly recommend that you check him and his loop pedal out. Amazing!
Jim Parker
Everyone likes Jim. A great songwriter and musician, Jim is known for several songs that have made the charts. His latest achievement is the co-writing of the title track for the latest John Anderson album Bigger Hands as well as co writer of "Chicken Truck" also recorded by John.
Jonathan Laird
For those of you that have not heard this guy...do it...do it now! Jonathan is an incredible guitar player and vocalist. When Chris Dopler first met him at Philby's Pourhouse back in 2008, he asked Jonathan how many years he was locked up in his room and forced to practice the guitar. Calling All Record Companies and Recording Artists...get this guy in the flipping studio to do your tracks!
Roger Henderson
Roger is a friend of Chris Dopler from Northern Virginia. Roger is a great guitar player and songwriter and was a student of Sophocles_Papas. The song that has brought Roger the most recognition is "Penny To My Name" recorded by the late Eva Cassidy.
Dave Berry
Dave is a blast! He does a show with a wireless headset mic and wireless acoustic guitar keeping the crowd alive. A friend of Chris Dopler, Dave now lives and is doing shows in Charleston, SC...but yes, Chris still has some of those photos from the spandex heavy metal band days! Does this sound like blackmail? :-)
Rocky Guttmann
A Human Jukebox! That is what friend Chris Dopler says when the name Rocky Guttmann is mentioned. Rocky's web site song list is like Boeing showing a paper airplane for their technology! Rocky is a singer songwriter living in the D.C. metro area, but makes it to Nashville, TN now and then when he does his studio work. Rock on Rocky...hmmmm...is there a future CD title in that?
